Measuring AI Visibility
One prompt is an anecdote. AI answers vary by wording, product mode, tools, memory settings, and time.
Change the wording slightly and the shortlist can change. Switch products or modes and the answer can change. Ask again a week later and the answer can change again—even with no edits to your website.
That does not make measurement impossible. It makes undisciplined measurement misleading.
A lucky answer creates false confidence. An unlucky answer creates panic. Neither is a strategy. Owners need repeated, commercially relevant prompt families and a plan for comparable reruns.
Comparability requires discipline: if you change prompts, systems, and market framing all at once, you cannot tell whether fixes worked.
Coastline stores the pack used in an engagement and reruns under comparable conditions so verification is honest—including when a period is not apples-to-apples.
We will not publish those packs here. The principle you can use immediately: never make a major decision from one chat.
Coastline Metrics does not publish proprietary prompt packs, scoring formulas, remediation playbooks, or operator workflows in the Resource Center. Those materials belong inside client engagements. What you will find here is durable education: how to think clearly about AI visibility, what evidence looks like, and what claims to reject.
Coastline Metrics measures how leading AI systems understand, describe, and recommend your business—and identifies what may be limiting your visibility.
