Measuring AI Visibility
AI share of voice summarizes how often a brand appears across a defined set of AI answers relative to peers—not a universal ranking of the internet.
Share of voice only means something when the prompt set, market, and platforms are explicit. A national lifestyle query and a local high-consideration buyer query are different contests.
Without those boundaries, “share of voice” becomes a slogan.
Treat it as a diagnostic summary alongside accuracy and shortlist position. Rising mentions with rising errors is not progress. Stable mentions with improving accuracy can be progress even if share is flat.
Coastline may use share-style summaries in client work as one lens—not as a promise of demand or revenue.
